The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support a cutting-edge New Aircraft Design Program focused on next-generation military aviation. This onsite role in Englewood, Colorado plays a critical part in the design, development, and integration of advanced aircraft systems across the full product lifecycle.

The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative, high-performance aerospace solutions that meet demanding mission, safety, and efficiency requirements. Ideal candidates bring strong aerospace systems engineering expertise, experience with complex aircraft programs, and a passion for advancing military aviation technology.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of next-generation aircraft systems for military aviation programs
  • Support the full product lifecycle, including concept development, requirements definition, design, analysis, testing, certification, and deployment
  • Develop and refine complex aircraft systems, subsystems, and architectures to meet performance, safety, and mission requirements
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, manufacturing, and systems integration
  • Conduct systems analysis, trade studies, and technical evaluations to support design decisions
  • Support research, development, and validation of advanced aerospace technologies and products
  • Ensure system designs comply with program requirements, technical standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Provide technical leadership and engineering expertise throughout the New Aircraft Design Program

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • No immediate direct reports

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
  • Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
  • Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)

Work Environment

  • On-site position located in Englewood, Colorado
  • This is a 6-month contract

Compensation

  • Position offers an hourly W2 Rate between $85 - $90, with additional benefits

Requirements

  • Because this client is a Federal Government Contractor performing services for the DoD, US Air Force, NASA and others, they do require US, Non-Dual Citizenship
