Janitorial Manager

The Janitorial Manager will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to supervise and lead housekeeping staff to meet the highest standards of cleanliness for an outdoor lifestyle center. This position requires a professional demeanor and appearance, excellent bi-lingual communication, and customer service skills. This position oversees any combination of cleaning duties and staff to maintain a large outdoor shopping center in a clean and orderly manner.

Duties:

• Establish and maintain housekeeping schedules and assign employees to areas of various housekeeping duties; conduct comprehensive inspection to check the completion of work assignments.
• Ensure assignments are appropriately staffed and employees have adequate supplies and equipment for completion of assignments.
• Conducts inventory and places orders for cleaning supplies.
• Monitor and ensure the training of new personnel.
• Conducts daily walkthroughs of facility and outer perimeter.
• Actively communicates with Maintenance Manager to report any maintenance needs.
• Other tasks as assigned by Maintenance Manager.

Skills/Requirements:

• Team oriented attitude with ability to work hands on with staff when necessary
• Lead and motivate staff to preform individually and as a team
• Must have 10 years of custodial/housekeeping supervisor experience
• Flexible schedule. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills-Bilingual required Spanish/English
• Understand how to use computers and a smartphone
• Ability to effectively manage time and coordinate work function with co-workers
• Knowledge of OSHA and safety standards for housekeeping and outdoor maintenance
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
• Ability to stand, crouch and walk for long periods of time outdoors
• Exposed to outdoor environment with excessive temperatures, physical labor and standing for long periods of time

Work Environment:

Exposed to outdoor environment with excessive heat and cold, physical labor, and standing for long periods of time.

Compensation depends on experience.
