What You Will Do:
The Data Software Solution Architecture Engineer plays a critical role in designing and implementing scalable, modularized software solutions for biopharma clients. Operating within the data science and technology domain, this position collaborates closely with data engineers and full stack developers under the guidance of a data science lead. Success in this role is defined by the ability to architect robust digital platforms that meet complex business requirements, ensure compliance, and drive innovation in life sciences.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design and develop enterprise-level solution architectures for data-driven software platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and system designs.
- Lead the selection and integration of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Define and implement microservices architectures and API strategies for scalable, interoperable solutions.
- Ensure data modeling, distributed systems, and integration patterns align with industry best practices.
- Oversee DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, to support efficient development and deployment.
- Maintain security and compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA) throughout the software lifecycle.
- Optimize system performance and reliability through continuous monitoring and improvement.
- Document architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to project teams.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solution architecture, preferably within the life sciences or healthcare sector.
- Proven expertise in solution design, enterprise architecture frameworks and cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, data modeling, and distributed systems.
- Experience working with claims data and building composite models describing health care patterns through payer, provider, and patient lenses.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices (CI/CD), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and integration approaches.
- Strong familiarity with Databricks, Dataiku, or other cloud data pipeline management software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Certifications in cloud architecture (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) or enterprise architecture (TOGAF).
- Experience in the biopharma industry or life sciences consulting environment.
- Strong familiarity with python, R, and Javascript.
