Position Overview
APA is seeking a Violin/Viola Instructor to teach private lessons to beginner–advanced students. The ideal candidate is passionate about string education, reliable, professional, and enthusiastic about supporting student growth.
Lessons occur at both our Oak Creek and Franklin studios. This role includes fixed weekly teaching blocks as part of our Fall 2026 session launch.
Current Schedule Openings (Fall 2026 Start)
Franklin Studio:
- Thursdays: 4:00–8:30pm
Oak Creek Studio:
- Fridays: 3:30–7:00p
- Saturdays: 9:00am–12:00pm (may be added depending on enrollment)
Applicants who cannot work all listed shifts are still encouraged to apply; APA continues to grow and may have future opportunities.
Pay Range: $20-30/hr.Locations

- APA Franklin: 10001 W. Saint Martins Rd., Franklin, WI 53132
Responsibilities
- Teach private violin and/or viola lessons (all levels, ages 5+).
- Provide individualized lesson plans tailored to each student.
- Prepare students for APA's optional December and June music recitals .
- Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and students.
- Maintain accurate attendance and student progress documentation.
- Arrive 10–15 minutes early to prepare for lessons and start on time .
- Follow APA policies regarding safety, dress code (business casual for music instructors), communication, and professionalism .
- Participate in one paid APA community event each year (e.g., Student Appreciation Day, Winter Event) .
- Attend required 1:1 meetings with the Music Director/Manager for training, updates, and support .
Qualifications
- Degree in Music, Music Education, Violin/Viola Performance, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Prior teaching experience with children or teens.
- Ability to teach technique, musicianship, and repertoire appropriate for each age and level.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Alignment with APA's values and family-friendly, conservative-minded environment expectations .
- Ability to commit to weekly teaching blocks during the Fall 2026 session.
Additional APA Expectations
- Follow all attendance, sub procedures, and professionalism guidelines; teachers must avoid tardiness or consecutive absences unless approved by management .
- Maintain child-safe, professional, conservative-minded language and conduct at all times .
- Keep the classroom supervised at all times and adhere to student safety protocols, including visibility windows and never leaving a student unattended .
- Communicate with parents only through approved APA channels and in alignment with retention-focused best practices.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
