Job Overview

Kenwood Plaza is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Med Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality care to our residents, ensuring they receive their medications safely and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of caregiving principles, particularly in senior care settings, and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation for all administered medications.
• Assist with tube feeding and other specialized care as needed.
• Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding residents' health status and medication needs.
• Provide support in daily living activities, ensuring the comfort and safety of residents.
• Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety in all caregiving practices.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medication Aide or equivalent training is required.
• Previous experience in caregiving or senior care is preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is beneficial.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate medication administration.
• Ability to work compassionately with elderly individuals, demonstrating patience and empathy.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
