We are looking for a motivated and experienced Shift Lead to help guide our team and elevate our customer service.
Job Summary
The Shift Lead is a key member of our dispensary team, responsible for helping oversee daily on the floor operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. This role requires an individual with deep cannabis product knowledge, a passion for customer service, and a firm understanding of Colorado MED compliance regulations. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can inspire their team, handle challenges with professionalism, and drive sales while maintaining a positive store atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Training:
- Serve as the shift lead, providing guidance, support, and direction to the budtenders.
- Train, mentor, and coach new and existing budtenders on product knowledge, sales techniques, customer service standards, and compliance procedures.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high performance team environment.
- Communicate store goals, promotions, and updates from management to the team and customers effectively.
Customer Experience & Sales:
- Provide exemplary, patient, and knowledgeable service to every customer.
- Act as the floor expert on all cannabis products, including strains, terpenes, consumption methods, and effects.
- Drive sales by educating customers and making personalized recommendations to meet their needs.
- Handle customer complaints and escalated issues with professionalism and poise, ensuring satisfactory resolution.
- Maintain a welcoming and clean sales floor that is well organized and fully stocked.
Operations & Inventory:
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling, till reconciliation, and securing the facility.
- Operate the Point of Sale (Flowhub) system with high accuracy, processing transactions and managing customer profiles.
- Assist management with inventory control, including receiving, stocking, and participating in regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Identify and report low stock items or inventory discrepancies to the Inventory Manager or General Manager.
Compliance & Regulations:
- Maintain strict adherence to all Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) regulations and company policies.
- Ensure all transactions are compliant, including verifying customer age and purchase limits.
- Promote a culture of compliance and safety among the entire team.
- Stay current on all state and local cannabis laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must possess a valid Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) Employee Badge.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a retail leadership, keyholder, or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of cannabis strains, products, cannabinoids, terpenes, and consumption methods.
- Proven experience with cannabis POS systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong math skills and experience with cash handling and till management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
