The purpose of this job is to oversee inventory operations, including stock requisition and distribution, inventory control, and purchasing. Serves as an additional point of contact for outside vendors and department employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

  • Supports internal crews with materials and tasks.

  • Manages material stock to verify accuracy.

  • Performs accurate physical inventory audits and spot checks.

  • Operates motorized equipment to load and unload equipment and materials.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

  • Performs light building maintenance, janitorial duties, and assists with snow and ice removal.

  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.

  • May assist in the collection of data in support of recommendations for departmental budget allocations. May monitor division or program/promotional-level budgets and expenditures.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 1 to 3 years' experience in storeroom operations, inventory control, or related field.

Licenses or Certifications

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Forklift certification within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position

Knowledge of:

  • Standard materials, tools, and equipment of building trades.

  • Basic arithmetic and computational operations.

  • General office practices and administrative procedures, records management, and administration techniques and procedures.

Skill in:

  • Typing and/or data entry with minimal errors.

  • Estimating time and materials needed to complete jobs.

  • Communicating verbally to meet the needs of the audience.

  • Applying active listening and asking questions for understanding.

  • Organizing and managing time effectively.

Ability to:

  • Calculate accurate inventory levels.

  • Maintain accurate records.

  • Operate a forklift and related motorized equipment.

  • Provide high levels of effective customer service.

  • Use a computer, software, phone, and related office equipment.

  • Focus on tasks.

  • Incumbents required to feel attributes of objects, grasp, push, stand, walk, drive, reach with hands/arms, stoop/kneel/crouch/crawl, climb/balance, and operate mechanical equipment.

Hours/Days

M-F 7am-3:30pm

Starting Salary

$16.87/hr-$24.63/hr.: commensurate w/training & experience
