Construction Laborers

Advanced Construction Technologies (ACT) has been servicing areas across the country for over a decade.

We are a rapidly growing company looking for Laborers to join our Northern California team to install methane gas/soil VOC vapor mitigation systems.

We are looking for dependable, fast paced, hard-working individuals, with at least 1 year of previous construction experience.

Responsibilities of the Laborers include, but are not limited to:

• Work with an established team at commercial or residential construction sites to install methane gas/soil VOC vapor mitigation systems, sub-slab venting systems, and vertical vent risers.
• Carry up to 100 lbs of equipment and materials.
• Handle the placement of sand and gravel layers, spreading rock and sand, and trenches (sometimes with equipment and sometimes with shovels)
• Work outdoors in the heat, often on hands and knees all day.
• Install both heat-welded and spray-applied barriers.
• Roll out large sheets of plastic.
• Put together and place plastic pipe at ground level.
• Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including attending training classes when offered.

MUST HAVE:

• Strong work ethic and integrity.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required. Employee must provide their own hard hat, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, safety vest, gloves, long pants, plain T-Shirt.
• Tools of trade required. Employee to provide their own utility knife, tape measure, hammer, etc.
• Reliable transportation to commute to job sites in East Bay area including but not limited to: Mountain View, Fremont, Oakland, San Leandro, Walnut Creek, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and other sites. Occasional travel to other job sites out of state.
• All candidates must be willing to travel and stay out of town as needed. (Travel costs and per diem will be provided).
• Able to work normal working hours (Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm) Must have some flexibility with schedule to work nights or weekends if required.
• 1 year+ of construction experience at a commercial/residential job site experience as a laborer/technician or foreman.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver's license with clear driving record and reliable transportation.
• Ability to successfully pass a drug screening/background check.
• Authorized to work in the United States

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience with waterproofing, concrete, or roofing, and ability to operate equipment (i.e. backhoe, skidsteer, excavator, forklift) strongly preferred.
• Bilingual English / Spanish strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
