Our Durham, North Carolina facility is seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials within our warehouse. You will play a critical role in our logistics operations, ensuring materials are handled correctly and inventory is managed accurately. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of forklift operation, adherence to Safety protocols, and excellent organizational skills. This position requires physical capability and a commitment to maintaining a productive and secure work environment. Your contribution is vital to our supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (including sit-down, stand-up, and reach trucks) in a safe and productive manner.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and into racking systems.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Accurately stage and put away inventory as directed.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
- Follow all company Safety guidelines and procedures meticulously.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Wear required PPE at all times during operation.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a strong safety record.
- Valid forklift certification is mandatory.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse Safety standards and procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical coordination.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
