We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our daily logistics operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment. You will work closely with warehouse supervisors and other team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Attention to detail and adherence to all safety protocols are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric pallet jacks) in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload trailers with incoming and outgoing freight.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues.
- Participate in inventory counts and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, especially concerning safety and proper handling of goods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and tidying.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Ability to perform manual Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management systems is desirable.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must wear required PPE at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
