Seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk for our facility in Madison, Wisconsin. This role is vital to ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will be responsible for coordinating shipment activities, preparing documentation, and working closely with our logistics partners. Your role is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and accurately document all outgoing shipments, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify shipping information and ensure compliance with all shipping regulations.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging, labeling, and contents.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure the Shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Operate shipping equipment such as scales and label printers.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required by company policy and Safety regulations.
- Assist with receiving functions as needed and support overall warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a shipping, logistics, or administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including shipping software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle moderate Lifting (up to 30 lbs.) occasionally.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Understanding of shipping carrier requirements and regulations.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to all company policies.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
