Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify order accuracy before shipment.
- Label packages correctly according to carrier and company specifications.
- Schedule and coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, LTL).
- Maintain accurate shipping records and files.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scales and label printers.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards, including the correct use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Assist in resolving any shipping-related issues or discrepancies.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be comfortable with frequent lifting of packages weighing up to 30 pounds. Basic computer proficiency. Commitment to maintaining a safe work area and adhering to safety best practices.
