We are hiring a Material Handler for our Atlanta, Georgia warehouse! In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials throughout our distribution center. Responsibilities include operating material handling equipment, receiving and dispatching goods, and maintaining an organized and safe work environment. If you are a proactive and reliable individual with a solid understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety within the logistics industry, we want you on our team!
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials efficiently.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Transport materials to designated storage locations or production areas.
- Stack, sort, and stage materials as required for various processes.
- Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure safe operation and report any issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, particularly in material handling areas.
- Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the appropriate use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving and put-away functions.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and meet deadlines.
- Notify supervisors of any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is necessary.
- Certification or demonstrated ability to operate forklifts and other relevant equipment.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs consistently and moving heavy items.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following all safety directives.
- Must be reliable and possess a strong work ethic.
