Job Summary:
Our Des Moines, Iowa location is seeking a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our dedicated maintenance team. This role is vital for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of our warehouse equipment and facility. You will be responsible for executing a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and performing necessary repairs to keep our operations running smoothly. A strong background in industrial maintenance and a commitment to Safety are paramount. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess excellent diagnostic skills, and be adept at working with a variety of equipment common in the logistics industry. Responsibilities:
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance schedules for all warehouse machinery and equipment.
  • Identify, diagnose, and repair a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
  • Ensure compliance with all Safety regulations and conduct regular Safety audits of equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs and repair histories.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and order necessary components for repairs.
  • Properly utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to all site-specific Safety procedures.
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures and work efficiently to restore functionality.
  • Assist in the installation, modification, and decommissioning of warehouse equipment.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance processes and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to understand equipment needs and potential issues.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within a warehouse or distribution center.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing common warehouse equipment (e.g., conveyors, forklifts, compactors).
  • Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of Safety best practices in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with the Logistics industry is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
