We have an opening for a diligent Material Handler in our Jacksonville, Florida logistics facility. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth and safe movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to load, unload, and transport inventory. Tasks include receiving and stocking materials, staging orders for shipment, and maintaining an organized work area. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to all regulations and the proper use of PPE is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Load and unload trucks and containers according to established procedures.
- Move and store materials accurately within the warehouse.
- Organize inventory to ensure accessibility and proper stock rotation.
- Stage materials for picking and shipping operations.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse, ensuring clear pathways and work areas.
- Follow all safety rules and company policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and record keeping.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals in our logistics operations.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or with operating forklifts is required.
- Valid forklift operator certification is a must.
- Ability to perform tasks involving significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting of heavy items (up to 55 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to operate various types of equipment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
