Leisure Energy is an award-winning renewable technology company, consultancy, principal contractor and aftercare provider specialising in decarbonisation of leisure centres and swimming pools. Our mission is to lead the transition to net zero carbon leisure facilities. We currently employ 26 FTE and have a turnover over £12M. Due to our recent success, with a strong forward order book and set out in our Strategic Plan we anticipate significant growth over the next three to five years so are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our ambitious, highly talented and committed team. The Role
Reporting to the Technical Manager, and working closely with existing mechanical, electrical and project engineering teams, responsibilities will include: Design Responsibilities
Generate scope and specification documentation for subcontractors to work to. Generate electrical designs and calculation (SLD and full design packs). Collaborate with mechanical designers. Generate and review others controls designs. Size equipment (circulation pumps, air handling units, heat pumps, cabling etc). Develop and manage full bill of materials. Generate project scope and specification documents. Work with the Technical Director and gain experience in heat pumps and integration to existing buildings. Generate design risk assessments, DFMEAs, DESOPs, FDS etc. Work as a key member of the project design team to review and sign off site works. Project and Team Interaction
Work collaboratively with other internal designers and project managers. Interpret schematics, design intent, surveys and site information. Support bill of materials development and technical documentation. Provide visualization outputs for client communication where required. Essential
Minimum of two years experience in a similar function. Experience with at least one of ePlan (or similar design package), AutoCAD, SolidWorks. Strong team member, but also a self-starter and capable of managing their own time. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Good communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences. Strong organisation and self-management. Good working knowledge of MS Office. Desirable
Experience of energy and low carbon equipment. Experience of analysis of energy use. Knowledge and/or qualifications in health and safety. Experience of managing and developing client and supplier relationships. Bachelors degree in relevant Engineering discipline. Additional Details
This position is ideal for a technically capable Electrical Design Engineer who enjoys producing accurate design documentation for commercial heat pump system installations. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative low-carbon projects and support the continued growth of a high-performing and ambitious technical team. Location
