In this role, you will oversee our mobile engineering function, guiding technical execution and team growth while ensuring seamless integration with broader product and engineering goals. Our mobile applications are not consumer-facing—they are essential tools for field operations, safety systems, project management, and compliance in one of the most complex and regulated industries in the world. This role requires a strong leader who can blend deep technical expertise with operational reliability, system thinking, and cross-functional coordination.Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Building: Build and lead a world-class mobile engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture with a strong emphasis on reliability, safety, and quality.Strategic Execution: Drive the roadmap and execution for mobile applications that support nuclear site operations, field engineering, compliance workflows, and asset tracking.Architecture & Technical Excellence: Define and enforce mobile architecture and technical standards across native iOS and Android apps; promote secure, scalable, and maintainable codebases.Field-Integrated Design: Collaborate closely with field teams, regulatory leads, and construction ops to ensure mobile tools align with real-world use cases and safety-critical needs.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, design, data, infrastructure, and compliance teams to align mobile initiatives with company-wide technical and regulatory strategy.Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field required; Master’s degree is a plus10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in mobile application development3+ years of engineering leadership experience, including hiring, mentoring, and managing high-performing teamsExpertise in native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, Java) and deep familiarity with mobile application security, performance, and deploymentDemonstrated success building and scaling mobile applications in complex, operational, or regulated environments (e.g., industrial, energy, aerospace, construction tech)Strong understanding of mobile CI/CD pipelines, observability, offline reliability, and integration with backend systemsExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align field operations, technical staff, and executive stakeholdersCompetitive compensation packages401k with company matchAnnual company retreatsEstimated Starting Salary Range:The estimated starting salary range for this role is $198,000 - $228,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on asemi-monthlybasis.The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may includeexperience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.EEO Statement:The Nuclear Company is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an environment of inclusion in the workplace.
