System Architect

Position Overview

As the System Architect for VMoment, you will be responsible for designing and evolving the distributed system architecture that supports millions of users worldwide. You will tackle challenges related to cross-border low latency, high availability, and data compliance, ensuring that North American infrastructure aligns seamlessly with the global R&D headquarters' tech stack to provide a robust foundation for rapid business growth.

Key Responsibilities

* Architecture Design & Evolution: Lead the overall system architecture design for VMoment in North America, including microservices decomposition, API gateways, and high-performance middleware.

* Global Tech Stack Optimization: Select and optimize cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure/HuaWei) tailored for the US market, addressing cross-region data synchronization and latency issues.

* High Availability & Scalability: Design elastic, fault-tolerant, and self-healing systems capable of handling high-concurrency scenarios typical of social media platforms.

* Security & Compliance: Ensure the architecture meets US data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA/GDPR), overseeing data encryption, identity management, and cybersecurity protocols.

* Technical Excellence: Resolve core technical bottlenecks and establish development standards, code review processes, and comprehensive technical documentation.

* Cross-border Collaboration: Coordinate closely with the R&D team in China to ensure global technical roadmap alignment and mentor local engineering teams.

Qualifications

* Education: Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.

* Experience: 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in a System Architect role for large-scale distributed systems. Experience in Social Media, E-commerce, or SaaS is a plus.

Technical Skills:

* Proficient in at least one major language: Java, Go, or Python, and microservices frameworks (Spring Cloud, gRPC).

* Deep expertise in containerization (Docker, K8s) and cloud-native architectures.

* Mastery of distributed databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra), and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

* Global Experience: Proven track record in multi-region data center deployment, global CDN acceleration, and architecture optimization in complex network environments.

* Language Proficiency: Bilingual in Mandarin and English. Ability to navigate complex technical discussions and documentation in both languages.

* Soft Skills: Strong logical thinking with the ability to view technical architecture through a business lens; exceptional problem-solving skills under pressure.
