Program Description

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, headquartered in Akron, Ohio, is looking for talented leaders to add to its global leadership depth and play a role in the current and future success of the organization. The co-op/intern p rogra m provides students with practical work experience in one of many diverse technical and manufacturing area s .

In addition to challenging, engaging and interesting work assignments, students have the opportunity to meet and interact with students from other universities at work and outside of work. Tours of Goodyear facilities are arranged to help students learn more about the business. Goodyear leaders interact with students to help them begin to think about significant business issues and career options.

Plant Overview and Project Task/Responsibilities

The Findlay Plant was acquired in 1914 and has been producing tires ever since . The plant primarily produce s SUV and radial light truck replacement tires . Of the roughly 700 employees at the plant, the company selects 4 co-ops per semester. C urrent ly that includes Mechanical, Electrical and Reliability roles . Co-ops are tasked with impactful work on day one. Typical responsibilities include:

• Challenging , hands-on assignments that directly relate to the student's area of study

• Execution of the engineering design cycle

• Project management

• Procurement of materials

• Job plan development

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in the following areas: Mechanical Engineering or any other relevant area.

• Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required

• Freshman year or higher

• Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
