Job Details Job Location: Plant 2 Union Ave - Sheboygan, WI 53081 Job Shift: 3rd

Position Summary:  The duties of a Sanitation I employee are to disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble and test-run all elements of the line seven scaling and feeding system prior to the first shift start up.

Responsibilities/Duties:  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Minimum expectations include but are not limited to:

  • Disassembly of the Triangle system.
  • Cleaning of the Triangle scale system.
  • Reassembly of the Triangle system.
  • Cleaning of the "steep" conveyor.
  • Cleaning of the Urschel slicer.
  • Cleaning of the "Z" conveyor.
  • Other duties as assigned (to be done on nights when the Triangle system does not have to be cleaned).
  • Take responsibility in your work area to produce a safe and quality food product.  Report all food safety and quality related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the QA department to initiate immediate action.

Supervisory Responsibility:  No.

Qualifications

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:

  • Required education is a high school diploma or equivalent GED; 1 to 3 months related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Receive the SSOP certification.
  • Qualified to use a scissor lift (training provided by OWS).
  • Qualified to use sanitation chemicals (training provided by OWS).
  • Qualified to operate the Triangle system (clean out, set up and test run-training provided by OWS).
  • The ability to print and speak simple sentences.  Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one or small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Able to perform mathematic operations using any or all units of weight measurement, volume, distance, and American money.
  • Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, and taste or smell.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.  The employee is frequently exposed to wet, humid, refrigerated, or freezer conditions consistent with working in a food processing facility.  The noise level in the work environment is very loud. The employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold and vibration. Company provides: rubber gloves, metal gloves, cooler coats, sleeve protectors, aprons, bump cap, hair net, beard net, and ear plugs.
