Maintenance/Housekeeping

Essential Duties:

40%- Performs general outdoor labor on the County grounds (Weather Dependent)

• Performs general labor outdoors and maintains exteriors grounds (e.g., clean grounds, sidewalks and parking lots by mowing grass, cutting weeds, raking leaves, sweeping, removing snow/ice, spreading and removing salt when necessary; edges sidewalks; prunes trees/bushes and waters grounds).
• Performs general labor outdoors by repairing, replacing and/or installing fences, digging holes, ditches, and foundations; mixes concrete and assists in cement forming/finishing; builds catch basins, repairs, replaces and/or installs rails; sets up and moves scaffolding, picks up and hauls/ disposes of trash.

40%- Performs general indoor maintenance of County Facilities

• Performs general maintenance/custodial labor indoors (e.g. moves furniture/filing cabinets, supplies, sets up chairs, tables). Custodial duties may include emptying trash, sweeping, mopping and waxing floors, cleaning windows and walls. Make minor adjustments in equipment as needed.
• Performs basic maintenance procedures (painting/repairing drywall, electrical plumbing, and lighting)

20%- Other tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Demonstrate dexterity and skillful use of hands.
• Demonstrate physical fitness.
• Seeing, hearing, walking, standing, sitting, talking, fingering, grasping, handling, feeling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching with hands and arms, smelling (some of above for extended periods of time depending on nature of work).
• Ability to lift, force, or move heavy objects of 100 pounds frequently, and/or in excess of 50 pounds regularly, and/or in excess of 10 pounds constantly.

Minimum Experience/Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Must be skilled in general maintenance and manual labor procedures
• Must possess skills associated with hand/power tools and equipment
• Basic oral communication skills
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to operate a variety of motor vehicles/equipment
• Will follow standard safety protocols
