Lab Beverage Formulation Technician

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Lab Formulation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in formulation and batching processes, with a proven ability to develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role involves hands-on work in formulation, batch production, and R&D for multiple brands.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulation and Batching:
• Develop, test, and refine formulations for a range of products, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
• Execute batch production processes, including measuring, mixing, and quality control.
• Document formulation processes and batch records meticulously.
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
• Create and maintain detailed SOPs for all formulation and batching processes.
• Ensure SOPs are up-to-date and comply with industry regulations and company standards.
• Train staff on new or revised SOPs.
• Research and Development (R&D):
• Conduct R&D activities to innovate and enhance formulations for various brands.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and improvement.
• Analyze and interpret data from experiments and trials to guide formulation adjustments.
• Warehouse and Production Support:
• Assist with inventory management, including tracking raw materials and finished products.

Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lab formulation or production role, preferably in a manufacturing or R&D environment. Experience in beverages, brewing, and food services can be applicable.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of formulation principles, batching processes, and quality control.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing SOPs.
• Ability to conduct R&D and analyze data to make formulation improvements.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to assist with tasks outside of the lab
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Technical Abilities:
• Proficient in using lab equipment and software.
• Comfortable with basic office software (e.g., MS Office, Google Workspace).

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks in a laboratory environment.
