Tutor Qualifications / Requirements

• Preferred: tutoring or teaching experience in academic subjects (math, reading, writing, science, etc.)
• Able to tutor in person at our Coral Gables location
• Commitment to at least 15 hours per week
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to identify gaps in student understanding and tailor instruction accordingly
• Capable of creating homework assignments and sourcing additional materials when needed
• Familiarity with both virtual and in-person learning formats

Job Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic tutoring to help students strengthen understanding and improve grades
• Create homework assignments and practice materials based on student needs
• Use provided curriculum and locate supplemental materials when necessary
• Track and record student progress, class performance, and areas for improvement
• Develop and maintain strong rapport with students to encourage motivation and confidence
• Communicate effectively with parents and students regarding progress
• Submit brief session notes after each session
• Arrive prepared with lesson materials so no instructional time is wasted
• Adapt teaching methods to match students' learning styles

Compensation

• Starting at $30/hour
• Part-time | Contract
• Daytime and evening availability

Work Setting

• In person (Coral Gables)
• Optional online/remote sessions depending on student needs
