About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with a focus on healthcare applications to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining backend services utilizing Python and serverless architectures such as AWS Lambda. You will play a crucial role in defining and enforcing best practices for writing concise, robust, and maintainable code, primarily within event-driven systems leveraging cloud platforms. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including architects, product managers, data analysts, QA, and frontend developers—is essential to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in serverless development, functional programming paradigms, and cloud services, with a keen focus on performance optimization and code quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects within the healthcare sector, contributing to innovative digital products that serve millions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of professional experience in Python backend development
• Deep expertise in building serverless systems, particularly with AWS Lambda
• Strong proficiency in functional programming paradigms, including lambda expressions, closures, higher-order functions, and map/filter/reduce
• Solid experience with unit testing, mocking, and test-driven development (TDD)
• Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance-tuning skills
• Strong understanding of modular software design, error handling, and system resilience
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in remote, cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with AWS services such as DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, and CloudWatch is highly advantageous

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services using Python and serverless architectures like AWS Lambda
• Define and enforce coding standards to ensure code is concise, robust, and maintainable
• Architect and implement event-driven systems leveraging cloud platforms such as AWS
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests, adopting TDD practices
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, data teams, QA, and frontend developers to translate business needs into scalable solutions
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help establish best practices within the team
• Continuously seek opportunities for performance enhancements and code quality improvements
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and integrate them into projects to improve efficiency and effectiveness
