Security

Help keep order, and make sure everyone is safe and has a good time. They monitor people by checking I.D.s and cover charge at the door, make sure nobody is acting aggressively or destructively, and protects property and equipment from damage. If a person is acting in a dangerous or unseemly manner, the bouncer's job is to warn that person and, if needed, eject them from the venue.

Specific Functions and Duties:

• Work the door and talk to people, ask for ID and take cover charge. In addition, they will need to talk to unruly patrons and possibly communicate with police if an altercation happens.
• Break up fights in a professional non abusive manner. Control rowdy guests.
• Practice safe serving techniques. Ensure that guests leave safely and are not exhibiting signs of likely intoxication.
• Keep a clean and professional appearance. Greet guests with a positive attitude.
• Decision Making: Be able to determine what to do quickly before a situation gets out of control.
• Honesty: Must be trusted by their employer not to allow underage people into the bar, or to let someone who is getting out of control stay on premises.
• Observation Skills: Need to be on the lookout for trouble, be able to see false identification, and generally be aware of their surroundings.
