Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Auto Body Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong automotive knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role involves assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Experience in dealership settings, auto service management, or automotive diagnostics is highly valued. The Auto Body Estimator plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient workflow and customer satisfaction within our auto repair facility.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to assess damage and determine repair needs
  • Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines
  • Coordinate with technicians and parts departments to facilitate timely repairs
  • Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance, alignments, or suspension work when appropriate
  • Manage service writing tasks and document all repairs accurately in the system
  • Assist with vehicle diagnostics and mechanical assessments as needed
  • Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of automotive repair procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brakes, and alignments

Requirements

  • Proven experience in auto estimating (CCC) or service writing within a dealership or auto repair environment
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
  • Strong automotive knowledge including mechanical systems, diagnostics, and repairs such as suspension, transmission, and engine work
  • Ability to upsell additional services while maintaining integrity and customer trust
  • Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including oil changes and tire services
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and software applications used for estimating repairs

Pay: $45, $70,000.00 per year
