About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team supporting Oracle Analytics Data Intelligence Cloud Service. This role is pivotal in managing and optimizing our critical cloud infrastructure deployed across US Government and US Defense clouds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of cloud environments, automating deployment processes, monitoring system performance, and enhancing security measures.
As a key member of the DevOps team, you will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to improve service reliability, automate workflows, and implement best practices for infrastructure management. This position requires a proactive approach to incident management, disaster recovery planning, and continuous process improvement, all within a secure, compliant environment. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical cloud applications, supporting national security and government operations, with the potential for career growth and professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable university.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in cloud platform management, DevOps practices, and automation.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix system administration and scripting (Python, Bash, Shell).
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker Compose.
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Knowledge of security frameworks, vulnerability scanning tools, and compliance standards.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and relevant security scanners (Nessus, Fortify, Sonatype, Parfait).
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working with remote and diverse teams.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance required.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance automated deployment and operational tools to streamline cloud infrastructure management.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) for provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.
- Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent outages and improve reliability.
- Manage security protocols, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with government standards.
- Automate routine tasks such as software builds, deployments, and security scans to increase efficiency.
- Establish and maintain alerting systems to proactively identify and respond to potential issues.
- Perform regular system updates, upgrades, and disaster recovery testing to ensure high availability and resilience.
- Coordinate with development and operations teams to optimize workflows and improve deployment speed.
- Support incident management processes, analyze logs, and troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.
- Configure and manage cloud infrastructure services, including start/stop, upgrades, and scaling activities.
- Contribute to documentation of procedures, configurations, and incident reports to support audit and compliance requirements.
- Lead efforts to automate security controls, vulnerability mitigation, and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations to support critical cloud deployments and resolve urgent issues promptly.
- Support the creation of custom analytics reports and data configurations to monitor service health and customer experience.
