Position Overview

The Office of Business Services is seeking to hire a statewide Travel Management Coordinator. Responsible for oversight and control of the operation of the agency's statewide travel program.  Serves as liaison for the agency between the Department of Central Management Services, the Governor's Travel Control Board, private and public organizations, and other state agencies. Develops responses to auditors on issues related to travel. Writes, develops, interprets, implements and evaluates policy as it affects the agency. Updates Administrative Directives, operating policies, practices and procedures, conducts research around most economical travel options and makes recommendations accordingly.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as statewide Travel Management Coordinator.
  • Develops responses to auditors on issues related to travel.
  • Reviews personal property claims for the agency, applies policy in approving or disapproving claims per the applicable Administrative Directive.
  • Writes, develops, implements and evaluates policy as it affects the agency when establishing operating policies, practices and procedures, conducts research and makes recommendations accordingly.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires two (2) years of responsible administrative experience in a pubic or business organization.
Specialized Skills
  • Of the two (2) years of experience, requires two (2) years of professional experience managing the operation of a statewide travel program for a public or private business organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) years of professional experience managing the operation of a statewide travel program for a public or private business organization.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience answering questions, providing guidance and assisting individuals related to travel policies/issues/needs for a public or private organization.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience tracking and compiling data for reports related to travel and monitoring the timely
