Job Summary:

We are seeking a professional and personable Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves direct interaction with patients, serving as the first point of contact for their medical care needs. As a key team member, you will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless communication and superior service. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented team player with a friendly yet professional demeanor and a strong ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Welcome patients warmly, providing prompt, professional, and courteous assistance throughout their visit.
  • Phone Etiquette: Answer calls and take messages with professionalism and an inviting tone.
  • Patient Support: Manage check-in and check-out processes, offering compassionate and attentive customer service.
  • EMR Data Management: Accurately enter patient information into our electronic medical records system (athenaOne).
  • Insurance Coordination: Verify patient insurance details and ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Transactions: Collect copays and outstanding balances, maintaining financial accuracy and transparency.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and ensure safety standards.
  • Document Handling: Scan, upload, and organize patient documents efficiently.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain a clean, orderly waiting area and ensure adequate front-desk inventory.
  • Team Collaboration: Support clinical staff, management, and physicians with administrative tasks.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of customer service experience; familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts and bi-weekly weekends.
  • Skills: Strong computer literacy, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation is required.
  • Language: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable.
