Join Proximo, a Spanish tapas and wine bar located in downtown Chapel Hill, inspired by the vibrant tavernas of Spain. As a Host at Proximo, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring every guest has a delightful experience from the moment they walk in.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet guests with a professional and friendly demeanor
• Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently
• Build and maintain an accurate waitlist using
• Answer the phone and precisely communicate answers to guests' needs
• Coordinate with servers to provide excellent service
• Assist with table setting and dining room maintenance
• Maintain a tidy and organized work space
• Facilitate any gift card needs

Qualifications:

• One+ years of experience in a customer service or hospitality role
• Advanced communication and time management skills
• Team player who is willing to help at any job when needed
• Availability on weekends and some holidays
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
• Ability to work on your feet for seven hours
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead onto high shelves

Location: Chapel Hill East Franklin Street

Próximo, a Spanish tapas and wine bar, is inspired by the tavernas and tapas bars of San Sebastian and Logrono, Spain. The casual, vibrant and dynamic feel of those restaurants felt just right for the cozy space on East Franklin Street.
Owned by Brandon and Elizabeth Sharp (who also have Hawthorne & Wood, a fine dining restaurant and bar, and Bluebird, a French bistro, both located in Chapel Hill), Proximo will be their first business in downtown Chapel Hill.

Proximo's General Manager is El Faust. Neal Benefield will oversee the restaurant as Director of Operations.

Pay: $ $18.00 / hour
