Job Description:

PURPOSE: This position is responsible for providing electrical engineering expertise within the Renewal by Andersen (RbA) Operations Engineering team supporting business growth projects. The key focus is to enable and support employees to deliver strong project results, on-time and within budget, to meet the strategic initiatives of RbA during unprecedented growth. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, organize, and lead technical aspects of large-scale assignments to successful conclusion.

Provide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes.

Lead and/or support project teams on the successful commercialization and start-up of new equipment and processes.

Interface with design, product engineering, supply chain, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability of new product or extensions.

Provide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes.

Participate in cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.

Partner with the Safety group to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.

Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for automation processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.

Troubleshoot advanced automated systems

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science - Electrical Engineering or related 4-year degree

7+ years of engineering experience preferred with automation systems background

Understands and applies methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative, cross functional teams

Strong aptitude in problem solving using analytical tools and making process improvements

Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills

Ability to effectively apply acquired knowledge and skills to a variety of assignments within a moderate range of technical difficulty

Strong experience in building and maintaining relationships

Experience with basic electrical components such as sensors, motors, indicators, circuit protection, etc.

Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), motion/servos (Kinetix), variable speed drives (PowerFlex)

Visualization/operator interfaces (PanelView, FactoryTalk View Studio ME and/or SE)

Experience reading electrical schematics

Knowledge or experience with AutoCAD or Mechanical Desktop

Proficient in safety system design & troubleshooting; understanding of safety categories

Proficient in safe work methods (lock out tag out, arc flash)

Design and test basic safety and control systems using relays, PLC/HMI programming, VFDs and/or servo motion

Travel requirements up to 20% within the US with possible occasional international locations, primary location is Cottage Grove, MN.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with robotics (preferably Fanuc)

Experience with CNCs

Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Knowledge of UL508A industrial control panels & NFPA79

Pay Range:

$99, $153,784.00
