POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for driving revenue for Urban Workshop by enrolling a high volume of welder evaluations, moving qualified candidates through our sales ecosystem, and up-selling programs to existing clients. A successful individual in this role will have a strong desire to master the sales process and the initial steps of our client journey.

ABOUT URBAN WORKSHOP

Urban Workshop is the only American Welding Society Accredited Test facility in LA and Orange County, as well as an LADBS approved welder certification site, giving us a distinct competitive advantage over all other welder training and certification companies in Southern California.

SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Providing an outstanding client engagement experience by quickly understanding key pain points and moving them through our client lifecycle.
  • Communicating to clients how welder training and certification gives them a competitive advantage, saves money and time so they can get to work and make money sooner.
  • Works well with other departments to ensure sold clients schedule and show for events.
  • Prioritizing clients who can move swiftly through the sales cycle, maximizing opportunities for revenue growth
  • Attending outside events to promote the certification programs and drive enrollment

OBJECTIVES

  • Make 50 outbound calls daily to generate new leads, ensuring 2.5 hours of talk time per day to maintain high engagement and lead generation volume.
  • Engage with clients over the phone, effectively utilizing sales strategies to set welder evaluations.
  • Secure 25 welder evaluations per week by uncovering pain points, presenting the evaluation benefits, highlighting the value and benefits of welder training and certification to applicants.
  • Achieve a 75% evaluation booking rate with clients scheduled into specific dates and times
  • Track existing students to ensure continuation sales opportunities are presented at the most opportune time
  • Generate revenue thru continuation sales while meeting or exceeding weekly evaluation targets.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service to both new and existing clients, responding promptly to inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records in Hubspot CRM (calls, connects, appointments, etc) to ensure visibility and accountability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest events, summits, and workshops to effectively promote and drive welder evaluations and enrollments.
  • Support students thru training and certification and sell additional programs to continue training.
  • Gather customer feedback to contribute to product and service improvements.

COMPETENCIES

  • Understand customer needs and tailor program recommendations accordingly
  • Solid communication skills to effectively deal with various levels of management, staff, and/or outside clients.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline with consistent follow-ups on unsold opportunities, leading to higher closure rates
  • Sense of urgency: able to function in a high-demand and fast-paced environment
  • Understand and follow the sales scripts for B2B and B2C sales
  • Ability to meet or exceed sales quota of 50+ outbound calls/day
  • Ability to leverage HubSpot CRM and be accurate in taking notes on clients
  • Comfortable with consistent follow up and ability to get creative when reaching out to clients (i.e. video messages, gifts…etc)
  • Knowledgeable of the Product and Pricing guide and stay up to date with any changes to our different product offerings
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and calmly respond to customer's questions to the best of your ability

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • GED or high school diploma preferred
  • At least 1 year sales experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience being a top performer in some arena (such as athletics, sales, education, etc.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

COMPENSATION AND PERKS

  • Projected total annual compensation between $42,000 and $62,000. Benefits include medical insurance, 401(K) w/ 3% match, 2 weeks paid vacation, 2 volunteer days, pet insurance, internal training discounts, tuition reimbursement, and the opportunity to work with an amazing group of peers and members.
