Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive IT Operations Support Technician to join our technology team. This role is essential in maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations across various platforms and systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical support skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for resolving complex IT issues efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to a broad range of IT systems and support functions.

Duties

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across the organization
  • Manage and maintain computer systems, including desktops, laptops, servers, and mobile devices
  • Assist with software deployment, updates, and configuration using tools such as SCCM and GPO
  • Support network administration tasks including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Firewall configurations, and Meraki devices
  • Monitor and troubleshoot computer networking issues to ensure optimal performance
  • Manage user accounts and permissions through Active Directory and handle help desk requests via ServiceNow or Jira
  • Support operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Microsoft Windows Server environments
  • Assist with the management of IT infrastructure components such as BMC Remedy for incident tracking and resolution
  • Conduct analysis of system logs and performance metrics to identify potential issues before they impact users
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement IT projects and upgrades effectively
  • Document procedures and maintain accurate records of support activities

Experience

  • Proven experience in providing desktop support and IT support in a corporate environment
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware components and software troubleshooting techniques
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP protocols, VPNs, firewalls (including Meraki), and network administration tools
  • Familiarity with operating systems including Windows (client and server), macOS, Linux distributions
  • Experience working with SCCM, GPO management, ServiceNow or similar help desk platforms, Jira for issue tracking
  • Understanding of network infrastructure including LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/UDP protocols
  • Knowledge of security practices related to firewalls, VPNs, and network security measures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users
  • Strong analysis skills for diagnosing complex technical problems quickly and accurately

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
