Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, pastries, cakes, and desserts with attention to detail and presentation.
- Decorate cakes and pastries using advanced cake decorating techniques to create visually stunning treats.
- Manage food preparation processes, including measuring ingredients, mixing batters, and assembling finished products.
- Package baked goods efficiently for retail sale or catering orders while maintaining product integrity.
- Ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety standards and sanitation regulations.
- Assist in food production tasks such as portioning, plating, and garnishing to meet quality expectations.
- Support catering events by preparing specialty desserts and coordinating with team members for timely delivery.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment sanitation and proper storage of ingredients.
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills for precise cutting, shaping, and decorating tasks.
- Contribute ideas for new pastry creations that align with current trends and customer preferences.
Qualifications
- Proven pastry experience with a strong portfolio of baked goods and desserts.
- Expertise in cake decorating techniques including piping, fondant work, and embellishments.
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in food production within a bakery, restaurant, or catering environment.
- Knowledge of packaging methods suitable for retail or catering purposes.
- Skilled in food preparation methods such as baking, cooking, and garnishing.
- Excellent kitchen experience with proficiency in culinary tools like knives and mixers.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with the food industry's best practices for hygiene, safety, and quality assurance.
