Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating packaging machinery, ensuring products are prepared according to strict quality standards, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality products while adhering to industry regulations and company procedures. Responsibilities
- This position is a weekend/evening role. 11:15pm-715am (training is provided during scheduled shift hours)
- Operate packaging equipment and machinery, including conveyors, filling machines, and sealing units, following standard operating procedures.
- Monitor production lines to ensure consistent product quality and proper packaging integrity.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment, perform minor mechanical adjustments, and troubleshoot issues using hand tools or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Maintain compliance with FDA regulations and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) to ensure product safety and quality.
- Assist with assembly tasks as needed, including preparing packaging materials and labeling finished products accurately.
- Use forklift trucks to move raw materials, finished goods, or supplies within the warehouse or production area safely.
- Keep detailed records of production activities, including batch numbers, packaging counts, and equipment maintenance logs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in manufacturing or warehouse environments is preferred; familiarity with packaging processes is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments.
- Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for equipment operation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations and CGMP standards relevant to pharmaceutical or food manufacturing.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for recordkeeping and quality control documentation.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects safely, and perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
