cFocus Software seeks a Cloud Architect to join our program supporting the Department of Defense (DoD). This position is remote. This position requires the ability a Public Trust clearance.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience designing and supporting enterprise IT architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience designing cloud or hybrid environments for mission-critical systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, storage, compute, and security services.
  • Experience supporting DoD or federal cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of RMF, cybersecurity compliance, and secure architecture design.
  • Experience with DevSecOps and infrastructure automation.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 (or higher) background investigation

Duties:

  • Design and maintain cloud and hybrid architectures supporting DSAID application hosting, data storage, and system integrations.
  • Define cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with DoD and DMDC requirements.
  • Support cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure architectures comply with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP , and DoD cloud security requirements.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity engineers to support ATO maintenance and continuous monitoring.
  • Design architectures supporting high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and performance.
  • Support infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with DevSecOps teams to integrate cloud services into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Evaluate and manage cloud services, configurations, and vendor updates.
  • Support cost management, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, design documentation, and technical standards.
  • Support system integration testing, deployments, and operational readiness activities.
  • Participate in Agile planning, sprint reviews, and technical working groups.
