We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is essential for supporting the smooth operation of our warehouse by efficiently moving, storing, and organizing materials. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including loading and unloading, using material handling equipment, and ensuring inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate is reliable, possesses a strong work ethic, and understands the importance of safety in a warehouse setting. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and stage incoming materials.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and potentially forklifts (if certified).
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper stock rotation.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety vest, steel-toed boots).
- Be comfortable with frequent and substantial Lifting of materials, up to 60 lbs.
- Support the overall efficiency of warehouse Logistics by ensuring materials are handled correctly and promptly.
- Follow all work instructions and operational guidelines precisely.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet operational demands.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient work atmosphere.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Ability to operate basic material handling equipment. Willingness to be trained on and operate forklifts if needed. Strong understanding of warehouse Logistics and inventory control. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including heavy Lifting , are essential. A strong commitment to workplace Safety and compliance with all regulations. Must wear required PPE at all times and understand its importance.
