We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our bustling warehouse facility in Detroit, Michigan. The Receiving Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient intake of all incoming goods, ensuring they are properly inspected, documented, and stored. This role is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the overall flow of materials through our logistics network. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding rigorous safety standards. You will be the first point of contact for incoming deliveries, so a professional attitude and strong work ethic are paramount. This is a key role in our supply chain, impacting everything from inventory levels to production scheduling.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies.
- Verify incoming inventory against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label incoming goods appropriately for tracking and storage.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or short shipments to the appropriate personnel immediately.
- Organize and stage received goods for put-away into storage locations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area, adhering to all Safety guidelines.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently as needed.
- Proper use of PPE , including safety glasses and gloves, is mandatory.
- Be comfortable with moderate Lifting , up to 50 lbs.
- Support overall warehouse Logistics operations by ensuring timely and accurate receiving processes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations preferred. Familiarity with WMS software is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. A strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures is required.
