We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Washington, D.C. This role is critical for managing the inbound flow of goods into our facility. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading shipments, inspecting goods for quality and quantity, verifying against purchase orders, and accurately documenting all incoming inventory. Your organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate records and ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks using appropriate equipment.
- Inspect goods for damage, defects, and accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received items into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages to supervisors promptly.
- Tag and label incoming inventory for proper storage.
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution or put-away.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of wearing required PPE.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
