We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials throughout the warehouse, supporting various aspects of our logistics operations. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading shipments, stocking inventory, and ensuring materials are accurately staged for production or distribution. A strong focus on safety and efficiency is paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store materials according to established procedures.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using pallet jacks, dollies, and other equipment.
- Stage materials for production lines or outbound shipments.
- Perform regular inventory checks and assist with stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including the correct use of PPE.
- Report any damaged materials or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Assist forklift operators and other warehouse personnel as needed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the logistics process.
- Perform manual lifting of items up to 50 lbs regularly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual lifting.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all guidelines.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
