We are seeking a skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. Your primary role is to support warehouse operations by transporting materials between various locations within the facility. This position requires proficiency in operating forklifts, a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of Safety . Accuracy in handling inventory and adherence to operational guidelines are paramount for success in this role. Your contribution is vital to our overall logistics efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement and securing of goods.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working order.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
- Transport materials to and from various departments and storage areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways for safe operation.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Follow loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage to products and equipment.
- Perform other warehouse duties as assigned, which may involve some manual Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to adhering to all Safety regulations and operating procedures.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require occasional Lifting .
- Must wear required PPE , including safety vest and steel-toed boots.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
