We are seeking dedicated and efficient Picker/Packers for our Indianapolis, Indiana facility. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that customer orders are accurately fulfilled and prepared for shipment. You will be responsible for locating items in our warehouse, verifying quantities, and packing them securely for transit. If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy a fast-paced, hands-on role, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our supply chain success.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick specified items from warehouse inventory using pick lists or RF scanners.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
- Carefully pack products into appropriate shipping containers, using dunnage and protective materials as needed.
- Apply shipping labels and other necessary documentation to packages.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks for moving inventory within the picking and packing areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station, adhering to all logistics safety standards.
- Ensure proper use of required PPE at all times.
- Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or equipment issues to a supervisor.
- Assist with restocking picked locations and other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Meet established performance targets for picking and packing speed and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a picker, packer, or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product codes.
- Proficiency with RF scanning technology is a plus.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, reach, and bend throughout the shift.
- Capability of regularly lifting items weighing up to 45 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Understanding of safe lifting techniques and warehouse safety practices, including the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Familiarity with general logistics processes is beneficial.
