We are hiring a skilled Material Handler to join our bustling New York City, New York facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement and organization of materials throughout our warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, and distributing various goods, ensuring a smooth workflow for our logistics operations. You will operate machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks, always prioritizing safety and precision. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of material handling best practices, a commitment to safety, and the physical capability for demanding tasks. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials and supplies.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts or other equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory in a systematic and accessible manner.
- Load materials onto trucks for outgoing shipments.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to all operational guidelines.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure proper functioning and Safety.
- Comply with all company policies, including strict adherence to PPE requirements.
- Assist with inventory control and record-keeping.
- Support the overall logistics team in maintaining operational efficiency.
- Follow all Safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role.
- Valid forklift operator certification is often required.
- Ability to perform significant Lifting, up to 60 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures and regulations.
- Experience with inventory management systems is beneficial.
- Understanding of general logistics and supply chain principles.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
