Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead to oversee and coordinate culinary operations within our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality meal preparation in a fast-paced environment. The Lead will play a vital role in menu planning, food handling, and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere to meet the needs of our clients and guests.
Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
- Oversee meal preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain quality and presentation
- Assist with menu planning, incorporating dietary requirements and special requests
- Train and mentor kitchen staff and dietary aides on proper food handling, knife skills, and culinary techniques
- Coordinate catering services and special event food arrangements
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with procurement of ingredients and supplies
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols at all times
- Support the team in food service activities, including serving guests when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas and ensure proper storage of all food items
Skills
- Extensive culinary experience with a focus on food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Strong background in dietary department operations or dietary aide experience preferred
- Proven ability in menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
- Experience in fine dining or restaurant environments highly desirable
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food handling regulations and catering procedures
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
