Delivery Driver/Warehouse

Position Overview

As part of the warehouse and delivery team, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing material, supplies, equipment and products within the warehouse. You will be working directly with your team to pull product for deliveries and installation, ensuring accuracy, and delivering within the time commitment made to customers. All warehouse team members assist in customer deliveries – focusing on customer service and communication. Employee compliance with safety and quality standards is required.

Our delivery trucks are 26 foot box trucks.

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities

· Safe driving Pella trucks to customer locations and unload product as needed – communication on any shortages, damage or other issues.

· Collect money on COD orders

· Load and unload trucks safely and damage-free, verify load lists, and move materials to designated areas

· Sorts and places warehouse material on rack, shelves, pallet in organized manner

· Notifies manager of shortages, discrepancies, damaged product, or other anticipated needs

· Operate scan guns to ensure accuracy of database of inventory locations

· Drive and operate material handling equipment

· Assists in inventory processes

· Log and report any maintenance needs on delivery vehicles

Qualifications Education and / or Experience

High School Graduate or GED or dependable work history

Prior driving history is preferred

Language and Communication Skills

Verbal and written English language skills are required as well as good customer service skills. Must display excellent phone etiquette, and the ability to communicate in a professional manner. Must be able to make eye contact and present appropriate persona for the situation when interacting with fellow employees or waiting on a customer/visitor in person on a regular and consistent basis.

Professional Skills

Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth. Must be pro-active, have a good attitude, be self-disciplined, and self-motivated. Must be able to gain trust, respect, and confidence of employees and managers. Must present in a clean and neat physical appearance.

Mathematic and Reasoning Abilities

Must have ability to understand and communicate basic math associated with contract balances.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able top regularly lift and or move up to 100+ lbs. of product and equipment regularly. Repetitive body motions is required. The employee will be required to perform tasks 1-2 stories above ground. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Primary work location will vary between warehouse and customer delivery locations. Travel throughout territory will be necessary for success in this job. Some overnight travel may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud in the warehouse and job sites.
