Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:   The Human Resource Representative plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. This position provides administrative support, assists with payroll and benefits processing, maintains employee records, and ensures compliance with company policies and employment laws. The HR Representative serves as a point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and workplace procedures. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Assists in processing payroll, and ensuring accurate recording of hours, deductions, and earnings.
  2. Maintain employee records, including new hire documentation, benefits enrollment, and personnel changes.
  3. Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and onboarding.
  4. Assists employees with HR-related inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and procedures.
  5. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies (FLSA, FMLA, ADAA, TVII).
  6. Coordinate and track training programs, professional development, and compliance-related requirements.
  7. Assists in handling employee relations issues by documenting concerns and escalating as necessary.
  8. Support HR projects, audits, and reporting functions.
  9. Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  10. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  11. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  2. PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  3. A minimum of two years of administration and HR experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Knowledge of local state and federal employment laws and procedures.
  2. Knowledge of wage and hour laws (FLSA).
  3. Knowledge of employment practices.
  4. Knowledge of employee relations procedures and applicable law.
  5. Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
  6. Ability to work independently
  7. Ethical practices and Integrity.
  8. Experience in managing any type of information system software. 
  9. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  10. Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
  11. Creativity and initiative.
  12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  13. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  14. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  15. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  16. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  17. A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.  The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
