IT Technician (Short-Term Project)

Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced IT Technician for a short-term project involving the decommissioning of network equipment at a client site. This role requires hands-on experience with removing, labeling, and organizing networking hardware in an office environment.

Scope of Work

The technician will assist with the physical decommissioning of a client building, including but not limited to:

• Removing network switches from racks and wall mounts
• Taking down wireless access points (APs)
• Disconnecting and removing network cabling and associated hardware
• Removing additional networking gear and preparing equipment for packing or disposal
• Labeling, organizing, and documenting all removed equipment as required
• Ensuring the work area is left clean and orderly

Responsibilities

• Safely power down, disconnect, and remove networking devices
• Handle equipment with care to avoid damage
• Follow onsite instructions and adhere to all safety protocols
• Coordinate with the project lead to confirm completion of tasks
• Maintain accurate records of all removed devices
• Communicate any issues or discrepancies immediately

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years experience in IT support, field service, or infrastructure work
• Familiarity with switches, access points, structured cabling, and basic networking concepts
• Ability to safely use ladders, hand tools, and cable management tools
• Able to lift/move up to ~40–50 lbs as required
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be available for all project dates (Dec 1–3)

• This is a short-term, onsite project only.

Pay: $ $45.00 per hour
