The Human Resource Generalist will assist the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department
including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company
policies and practices and providing clerical support to the head of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
● May oversee with Recruiting and NEO
● May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the
department.
● May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Coordinating job posting, sourcing candidates and screening resumes.
● Conduct interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions;
collaborates with management team to understand skills and competencies required for
openings.
● Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
● Prepare paperwork and schedule for a smooth new hire-onboarding process. coordinating with
cross functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience.
● Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews
including data entry in human resources information system (HRIS), and audits for accuracy and
compliance.
● Create and organize hard and soft copies of employees records, keep them updated and in
compliance ready at all times to be audited.
● Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training,
continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment
training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
● Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs
● Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, including but not limited
to Paycom access, compensation, benefits, and leave.
● Attends and participates in all employee meetings, terminations, and investigations.
● Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and
reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
● Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in
human resources: entry new hires into the payroll system (Paycom).
● Enforced CommuniKids policies and procedures.
● Create a database that contains the demographics of our staff members classified by gender,
income, housing, country of origin, etc.
● Create a database to be used for the executive team regarding attendance patterns that can be
provided during stay and exit interviews.
● Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
●
Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field
required.
● At least 2 year of human resource management experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
● Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
● Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
Previous Experience in Preschool is highly desired.
