The Watson Institute's Behavioral Health Services department is hiring a full-time Behavior Consultant for the Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) program based out of Wexford, PA, to work a flexible schedule which may include weekend and evening hours. The caseload is anticipated to be in the South Hills area, but is subject to change based on current programming needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop IBHS assessments with clients, families, and school staff
  • Develop functional behavior assessments (FBA) on clients
  • Develop individual treatment plans with measurable goals and objectives as well as specific interventions to address needs from results of FBA
  • Develop data collection protocol
  • Trend and analyze data
  • Supervise BHT staff in behavior management procedures
  • Consult with families, school personnel, and other community members about interventions for challenging behaviors of clients
  • Provide clinical documentation of each session with client
  • Develop materials to address clients' needs
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in ABA, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling, or closely related clinical field required
  • License in this Commonwealth required - BCBA, psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner, or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services. In lieu of licensure, a minimum of one year of full-time experience in providing direct care mental health services to children, youth, or young adults
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior principles, evidenced by experience and education
  • At least three years of experience (preferred) working with children with autism and behavioral challenges
  • Experience writing, implementing, and evaluating positive behavior support plans
  • Most tasks require oral communication, visual and hearing perception, and the ability to get around the classrooms, cafeteria, gym, campus, etc.
  • This position requires travel between clients' homes, schools, etc., and a reliable source of transportation is required. Caseload is anticipated for the South Hills area, but this is subject to change based on current programming needs
  • Experience collaborating with teams
  • The ability to keep up with running children and/or to lift, position, or assist with lifting students is essential to perform this task
  • The essential functions of this job described herein require the ability to exert moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling, crouching and brisk walking, which may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling objects and material of moderate weight (40 pounds)
  • Current PA Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances required
  • Pre-employment medical examination, including a tuberculosis test required
