We are seeking a *Lead Geotechnical Engineer* to provide technical leadership on large-scale civil infrastructure projects, including flood protection systems, levees, pump stations, and water and wastewater facilities. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong experience in *geotechnical engineering for horizontal infrastructure*, including foundations, earthworks, and soil–structure interaction in challenging ground conditions.
The successful candidate will serve as the geotechnical technical lead responsible for investigation planning, analysis, design support, and quality control from planning and design through construction support.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Lead geotechnical engineering efforts for civil infrastructure projects, including *levees, floodwalls (T-walls, I-walls), pump stations, drainage structures, and water/wastewater facilities*
* Plan and oversee subsurface investigations, geotechnical analyses, and report development
* Develop and review recommendations for foundations, embankments, excavations, ground improvement, and dewatering
* Evaluate soil–structure interaction, slope stability, settlement, seepage, and bearing capacity
* Coordinate closely with structural, civil, hydraulic, and environmental disciplines to deliver integrated designs
* Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, *USACE criteria*, and other applicable agency and permitting requirements
* Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering staff
* Support construction through submittal review, instrumentation monitoring, field observations, and resolution of geotechnical issues
*Qualifications*
* Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Geotechnical or Civil emphasis)
* 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience on *heavy civil or public infrastructure projects*
* *U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project experience strongly preferred*
* Experience with flood protection systems, levees, pump stations, or water/wastewater infrastructure strongly preferred
* Familiarity with soft soils, high groundwater conditions, coastal or flood-prone environments, and resilience-based design
* Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex engineering deliverables

Pay: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
